Max Watson (they/she), LSWAIC
Hi, I’m Max (they/she), and I am a therapist for children, teens, adults, and families. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership where we move at your pace, on your terms, and focus on what matters most to you. This is your healing journey: you get to lead the way and I’m here to help navigate, offer tools, and provide support to get you there. There is no rush, no “right” way to get there, and no pressure about how long it takes. Healing unfolds in its own time. My hope is for us to create a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering space together where you feel comfortable gently exploring your feelings, emotions, and experiences with compassion and care.
My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, person-centered, and mindfulness-based. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am committed to supporting clients as they explore their identity, sexuality, and gender, while building resilience in the face of societal pressures. I am an inclusive and affirming therapist, and I am neurodivergent, queer, and non-binary. Through my own self-discovery, I have come to deeply value these aspects of my identity and understand myself more because of them. Neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals face unique challenges in our society, and I understand this firsthand.
My work is rooted in an anti-oppressive framework and dedicated to social justice practices. I believe healing is not solely an individual process, but a collective one that is nurtured through community and is essential for meaningful change. I believe in therapy because I have experienced its impact myself. My lived experience is rich and includes many years of being in therapy. I understand how the right therapist can expedite your healing and growth in ways that are truly life changing.
Trauma affects us all and seeking a therapist is a brave step. You don’t have to carry everything alone, change is possible. Therapy offers an opportunity to meet yourself with curiosity and self-compassion, reclaim your narrative, and understand yourself on a deeper level. Seeking support isn’t always easy, and I’m truly glad you are. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, when you’re ready, I’m here.
